Major new report on Talent launched

As we emerge from recession, it's abundantly clear that organisations are now operating in a new era and business environment that's radically changed how value is created. Today's business success depends upon seizing the opportunities arising from linking environmental and social drivers as well economic imperatives. And this means that there's a wider pool of talent for companies to work with, if only they know how to unlock it. Against this backdrop, a major new report has been launched. Over recent months, JBA has been collaborating and contributing to a major new report, titled "Tomorrow's Global Talent".

It analyses in great detail how organisations are creating value through people.

The report states there needs to be a new view of talent, based on a somewhat controversial view that talent is abundant. It explains that talent is abundant in the sense that it is not a rare quality, but diverse and multifaceted that everyone has to some degree and in some form. And taking this view means that there is a wider pool of talent for companies to work with, if they know how to unlock it.

Supported by the UK Government's Talent and Enterprise Taskforce, the reoport states that to unlock talent, it's essential for organisations to carefully assess the interdependencies across their workplace(s). This will enable them to understand new opportunities for using facilities, technologies, fresh HR practices & organisational structures, to link social drivers as well economic imperatives. It concludes that it's a competitive imperative to uncovering talent in new places and new generations.

It makes a truly compelling read for every forward-looking executive.
